Exploration Gold Resources in Northern & Southern of Somalia

Somalia Geological Research Association are now coming into recognition for its unexplored natural resources in Somalia, including minerals like gold. Although the local gold mining industry is still in its early stagers there due to lacky of mineral policy in Somalia.  However, Remote sensing and geological surveys show that there is great potential for both artisanal and large scale gold mining.

1. Gold Residences South Awdal State (Borama Area)

Geological field survey have Explore the presence of potential gold deposits in North Borama. Although exploration is at a infant stage in these two areas, well being about the existence of alluvial and hard-rock gold mining. this suggests that progress is being made in the those areas.

In 2022 SOGERA’s Team have done the first Geological field surveys in Borama located in Awdal State, Somalia. we proved the presence of gold-bearing sediments running through river beds and streams in Amoud Area, that are favorable for alluvial gold mining. In addition to alluvial deposits, Borama has indicated the presence of primary gold deposits itself, which could be fit as a site for future large-scale mining ventures.

2. Gold Residences Southwest State (Baidoa Area).

The Baidoa area in the Batista region of the SouthWest Zone is emerging as a possible hotspot for gold. Current exploration efforts in the area mainly focus on alluvial and primary mineral deposits of gold. Initial studies indicate the richness of the area in minerals.

Barely addressed alluvial gold belongs to the group embraced by the surface and riverbed. These resources are relatively easy to exploit by the artisanal miners. Also, evidence of primary mineralization of gold does exist. It could be that deeper hard-rock mining takes place in this site by larger companies pretty soon.

The Current State of Gold Mining in Somalia.

mining for gold in the nation With a vast amount of unexplored mineral resources, Somalia is still in its infancy. Some Surveys from Awdal, Sanag state notably ( Milxa Area )  and Southwest State in Somalia imply that Somalia could still join the ranks of those places plays in gold mining across the globe. Natural resource usage has received more attention as a result of exploitation, particularly as the nation stabilizes and continues to grow.

The combination of alluvial and primary gold deposits in Awdal Offers great opportunity for both small and large mining operations. Investors in this area can find many options because both types of mining allow for different kinds of work. from small artisanal projects to bigger commercial ventures.

Baidoa also remains a central candidate for both artisanal and larger mining operations, where small-scale mining or large projects also present enormous promise economically.

With the opening of Somalia to foreign investment, gold mining has been singled out as the hot spot for growth. As consultants, we reach out to the international investors with an overview of the local mining industry. We work with global investors and local entrepreneurs in finding ways to create successful partnerships.
